Harry Potter star Jessie Cave calls OnlyFans 'embarrassing'
Jessie Cave, the 'Harry Potter' actress, says joining OnlyFans for money was 'embarrassing' despite earning over $20,000 in a day. The Lavender Brown star told This Morning she turned to the platform in March 2025 after smaller roles failed to support her family of four.
Key Takeaways
- Jessie Cave, Lavender Brown in the final three Harry Potter films, called joining OnlyFans "embarrassing."
- She launched her page in March 2025 with niche hair-focused content after struggling to make ends meet.
- Cave said she once earned £15,000 (just over $20,000) in a single day—more than she made from acting in a year.

- Despite early hesitation, she says OnlyFans has boosted her confidence and helped fund her art.
According to Page Six, Cave opened up on the British daytime show This Morning on Thursday about why she joined the subscription platform.
"People just assume I'm rich and I have loads of money, but no, I don't," she said, explaining that smaller roles after Harry Potter did not bring in enough to keep her family afloat.
Why did the Harry Potter actress join OnlyFans?
Cave said it was embarrassing to discuss her financial struggles after starring in a global franchise. She would have preferred a traditional job, but childcare costs made that hard with kids.
"It was embarrassing because, on a certain level, I would have really liked to get a job, but you know what it's like [when] you have kids … it costs so much for childcare," she told This Morning.
She described OnlyFans as a "weird job" but said she "couldn't really have done anything else" while raising their family. Before joining, she took different jobs because steady work is uncommon in acting.
"I have managed to keep afloat for 18 years," Cave said. "And then, it just came to a moment a couple of years ago where I was like, 'Oh yeah, I really don't know what I would do,' and this was an option."
In March 2025, she announced on Instagram that she was launching a page dedicated to hair content, which she described as a "fetish." "It's niche, even for me," she wrote. "Join me on this strange new journey."
How much money has Jessie Cave made on OnlyFans?
Cave revealed earlier this month that she made £15,000 (just over $20,000) in one day. She told the UK Times those earnings were more than she had made from acting in a year.
Her $6 monthly subscription fee has "genuinely saved [her family's] lives," she said. "I thought I'd make five grand, be on it for a few months, and it would buy me time to work out what we're going to do."
How does Cave feel about OnlyFans now?
Although she was initially hesitant, Cave said she has since discovered "so much beauty" in the "fascinating world" of OnlyFans. "You're engaging with people that you would never usually speak to all around the world."
The Black Mirror actress also said the platform has helped build her confidence as a woman, noting she has always been "very awkward [and] very weird." Income from the site has also supported her work as an artist, including one-woman shows.
